What are Anti-Aging Injections "Botox"?
Botox, Dysport, Letybo, and Xeomin are Health-Canada-approved neuromodulators to temporarily reduce the appearance of both moderate and severe frown lines, crow's feet, and forehead lines without changing the look or movement of the rest of your face. Non-conventional uses are for excessive sweating, migraines, jawline slimming, and TMJ pain/Bruxism.
How does Botox work?
Botox works by temporarily relaxing the muscles into which it’s injected. Once injected, the muscle cannot contract and crease the skin on top of it. This softens existing wrinkles and prevents new lines from forming. Botox can be used around your face and body to treat a variety of skin and muscle concerns.
Contraindications for Botox
Persons with a history of keloidal scarring
Neuromuscular disorders (e.g., myasthenia Travis, Bell’s palsy, MS)
Allergies (bee sting, cow milk Dysport) to constituents of products
Pregnancy or breast-feeding
How to prepare for Botox Injection?
In preparation for neuromodulators treatment or any injectable procedure, bruising can be minimized by discontinuing alcohol, aspirin, and any medication or dietary supplement (omega fatty acids) that has anticoagulant effects for 3-7 days before treatment. Consult your healthcare practitioner before discontinuing any medication.
What happens during Botox?
Consultation to discuss your needs, the areas you want to treat and the results you’re hoping to achieve. Complete a health questionnaire and post-treatment care. Botox is injected directly into the muscle to stop it from contracting.

What is Dermal Filler?
With age, facial volume deflates, caused by the degradation of healthy skin tissues and the slowing regenerative process. This leads to fine lines, wrinkles, and lax skin. Advanced dermal fillers and HA (Hyaluronic Acid) injectables help restore lost volume and reduce the visible signs of aging. The effects of filler are seen immediately. Dermal fillers can be used to volumize lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, marionette lines, and under eyes.
How long does the treatment last?
Injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) is a temporary dermal filler that lasts anywhere from 6 to 12 months.
Does Dermal Filler hurt?
Our premium dermal fillers contain lidocaine, which is a local anesthetic. We also offer an anesthetic cream to the area you want to be treated before the injection. This reduces the feeling in the specified area, so you shouldn’t feel too much discomfort at all.
Contraindications for Dermal Fillers
Hyaluronic acid fillers are contraindicated in patients with active autoimmune diseases including lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, mixed connective tissue disease, and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis.
Fillers are also contraindicated in people with a history of multiple, severe allergies and a history of anaphylaxis. Fillers cannot be used if there is a history of bee/wasp sting allergy.
Fillers are also contraindicated if there is a history of recent or current infections including urinary tract infection, sinus infection, skin infection, GI tract infection, and oral cavity infection (dental abscess, etc.). If you are on antibiotics, you should not be having HA filler injections.
Avoid vaccinations (2-4 weeks) before your appointment. If there is a history of cold sores, speak to your HCP for a prescription of antiviral pre-treatment.
Dental Visit Precautions:
Dental procedures and visits to a hygienist should be avoided 2-4 weeks before and after filler treatment. Tooth whitening/bleaching and dental scaling should also be avoided during this time for 2-4 weeks before and after filler treatment.

Lifestyle, genetics, hormones, and age can all be factors in developing a “second chin”. Belkyra™ otherwise known as Kybella® in the United States uses deoxycholic acid to eliminate unwanted fat. This deoxycholic acid imitates the naturally occurring acid created by your liver to break down fat
What is Fat Dissolving Injections?
Fat Dissolving Injections is a non-surgical injectable for reducing fat deposits under the chin. Made of deoxycholic acid, a substance that is naturally found in the body, this naturally-occurring molecule aids in breaking down fat for permanent correction, further preventing the accumulation and storage of fat cells under the chin.
Lipolysis injections are also used off-label to treat stubborn pockets of body fat such as bra fat, lower belly, flanks, back fat, above the knees, upper arm, and under the buttocks.
How long do the results last?
When injected, it destroys fat cells. Once those cells are destroyed, they can no longer store fat. After the treatment sessions are complete, the results are permanent! There are no maintenance or upkeep treatments or additional injections needed.
When will I see the results?
Noticeable effects occur after 12 weeks or at least two sessions. Maximum results are noticeable four to six weeks following treatments.
How many treatments will I need?
A minimum of 2-3 sessions spaced 2-4 weeks apart are recommended with a maximum of 6 treatments.

Can’t I just take vitamins for my nutrients?
When taken orally, only a fraction (20-40% or less) of the essential nutrients are absorbed due to a variety of factors: unhealthy diet, insufficient essential nutrients, widespread prevalence of gastrointestinal problems, chronic illness, and more. With IV nutrient therapy, 100% of the nutrients are absorbed into the bloodstream, where they can immediately be used by your body.
I hate needles- is IV nutrient therapy for me?
The temporary discomfort from placing the IV in is far outweighed by the benefits you’ll see with IV therapy. We have a trained registered nurse (RN) or medical professional administering the IV, so you won’t be poked unnecessarily!
How long are IV nutrient therapy drips?
Depending on the “cocktail” you select, they can last between 30-90 minutes to infuse. The difference in infusion rate depends on the total fluid amount and the viscosity of the “cocktail” infusing.
Your hands will be free so you can relax, listen to music, read or do your work while you receive your IV nutrient therapy. Feel free to bring your device and headphones.
Can you create specific “nutrient cocktails” based on my individual needs?
Yes, We invite you to consult with our team to create an IV nutrient plan based on your concerns and needs.
Do you offer other treatments besides the IV drips?
Certain nutrients do not require the fluid or as much fluid and can be slowly injected intravenously. Intramuscular injections such as B12 are also available and are very quick.

What is Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation or PIH?
PIH is a condition, in which the skin produces too much pigment or color. As a result, dark marks or brown spots occur on the skin.
Why are Dark Skin Tones Susceptible to PIH?
Melanocytes are the skin cells that are responsible for producing pigment or color in our skin. In people with dark skin tones, melanocytes are more prone to producing excessive color. In addition, the melanocytes are particularly sensitive to any trauma to the skin and/or exposure to light. As a result, people of color are more susceptible to PIH.
Why Do Some Treatments have PIH as a Side Effect?
It’s hard to control the depth of many traditional treatments, including ablative laser treatments. Because of this lack of precision, they can cause damage to the uppermost layer of the skin, called the epidermis. Unfortunately, the epidermis is exactly where the melanocytes lie. As a result, people with Fitzpatrick Type IV-VI run a greater risk of developing PIH following treatments like ablative lasers and photo facials.
Can I complete Microneedling, Radio Frequency, Laser & Chemical Peel Treatments?
IMAGE by Grace Kartey has acquired innovative technology that is safe for all ethnicities. Our Corrective Skincare therapist will assess your skin care needs, and develop a treatment plan and product recommendation to reduce PIH. Strict adherence is required for optimal results. Corrective skin care treatments are an exciting option for people of color. It effectively reduces the risk of hyperpigmentation, such as brown spots or dark marks, for African, Asian, and Latin ethnicities.
Tyrosinase Inhibitors are required to prepare your skin for medical aesthetic treatments (chemical peels, laser, micro-needling). Skin must be prepared before medical aesthetic treatments to avoid PIH. All clients must be on a full skincare regimen to receive skincare services.

Collagen induction therapy can be performed on any part of the body and is ideal for those with sun and age spots, vitiligo, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, melasma, loose skin, fine lines, wrinkles, and stretch marks. Microneedling treatments can be customized with curated acne and brightening cocktails, PRP, stem cells.
What is Liquid Microneedling?
Our customized unique blend of herbs, botanicals, healing plant stem cells, marine extracts are used to stimulate collagen production by causing intentional injury to the skin and inducing healing and repair like micro needling.
The treatment creates tiny microchannels and inflammatory responses increasing healthy cell turnover, collagen, elastin matrix, and overall appearance of the skin.
The benefits are reduced acne, hyperpigmentation, even texture, and increased moisture retention.
What is IMAGE Microneedling
IMAGE Microneedling or collagen induction therapy is a resurfacing and rejuvenation treatment that involves the intentional injury of the skin with tiny, sterilized needles. The controlled micro-injuries stimulate collagen and elastin production, regenerate new capillaries, which heals scars, decreases pigmentation, and strengthens and tightens the epidermis.
IMAGE by Grace Kartey uses SkinPen & DP4, Health-Canada-approved medical devices for micro needling.
What is RF Microneedling?
Radiofrequency uses bipolar RF energy at a specific wavelength, which works to gently heat the deeper layers of the skin. During the procedure, the micro needling channels create thermal zones, to target the energy under the skin precisely to the treatment area.
What is Mesotherapy?
Mesotherapy is a non-invasive and non-surgical procedure is a Health-Canada-approved technique that uses micro-injections to deliver customizable ingredients into the mesoderm (or middle layer of skin) to repair and hydrate.
How many treatments will I need?
Mild-moderate flaking may occur (3-5 days). Collagen induction therapy is recommended to be completed in a series of 3-6 depending on treatment concerns, every 4 weeks.
Does Microneedling hurt?
No, very minimal discomfort is felt during the treatment. Numbing cream is applied to the skin before treatment. Liquid microneedling will feel warm and may tingle. A fan will be used to ease discomfort during the treatment.
Will I bleed during the treatment?
You will experience redness and have pinpoint bleeding at the treatment site.
How do I prepare for my Microneedling, RF Microneedling, or Liquid Microneedling appointment?
Please let your skincare specialist know if you are on any medications (topical and/or oral) have any medical conditions or are being treated by a physician for any conditions.
Discontinue usage of AHAs (glycolic, lactic, mandelic acid), BHAs (salicylic acid), tretinoin, retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, etc. (3-7 days before your appointment)
No scrubs, waxing, or aggressive exfoliations one week before your appointment.
Minimize direct sun exposure before your appointment
Reschedule your appointment if you have open wounds or acne lesions.
If you are prone to the Herpes Simplex Virus (cold sores) ask your doctor for a prescription of Valtrex to prevent an active outbreak. Start taking the medication 4 days before treatment and 4 days post-treatment.
Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil for 3 days before treatment. These agents will interfere with the natural inflammatory process and increase the risk of bleeding.
Contraindications for Microneedling treatment?
Laser treatment within 1 week
Isotretinoin or Accutane use (1 year)
Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Sunburn, atopic dermatitis (eczema), or open wounds
Autoimmune deficiencies (ex. Diabetes)
Cancer therapies
Active Acne
History of keloid scarring
Black market bleaching agents (beauty supply store) your skin may scar and cause hyperpigmentation
Post Care Microneedling Instructions
Use a gentle cleanser and apply moisturizer at least twice daily for a minimum of 7 days post-treatment for 2 weeks. Avoid sun exposure as much as possible for a minimum of 3 days post-treatment. If you must be in the sun, apply physical SPF 30 or greater, reapply often, wear a wide-brimmed hat, and seek shade when possible. Be careful of sun exposure and wear SPF daily
Avoid swimming, excessive heat, or strenuous exercises that cause sweating, such as jacuzzi, sauna heavy workouts, steam rooms, or saunas, etc. (Heat causes hyperpigmentation) for 72 hrs.
Avoid facial waxing, and sun exposure (7 days)
Avoid Dermal fillers or Botox for 2-4 weeks (Pre/Post).
Do not pick, scratch, or aggressively rub the treated area
No scrubs or aggressive brushes should be used up to one week
Do not apply active serums for 24-48hrs as absorption levels will be elevated
No makeup for 72 hrs.
What to expect after treatment?
DAY 1-3
A windburn sensation is normal. The skin will feel tight, dry, sensitive to touch. Cleanse with a gentle cleanser, cool water, using fingers only, and pat dry no earlier than 4 hours after treatment. Redness or sensitivity might well be present. Bruising is common with PRP injections and may last up to 5-7 days and swelling can last 2-4 days depending on how aggressive of a treatment you received. Plan social calendar accordingly. Darkening of the skin initially may occur and resolve in 7 days.
DAY 2-7
Flaking and peeling may start 2-5 days after treatment. You will notice skin dryness, itchiness, and flaking due to an increased turnover of skin cells. Do not pick, scratch, or scrub at treated skin! Allow old skin to flake off naturally and keep moisturized. Mild acne breakouts may occur due to the increase in skin turnover. Mesotherapy may cause mild bruising.
For best results, we recommend follow-up and repeat treatments in 4-weeks and a series of 3-6 treatments depending on your personalized treatment plan.
You can maintain your results by returning to IMAGE by Grace Kartey for routine treatments. Book a consultation to find out if microneedling is right for you.

What is platelet-rich plasma (PRP)?
PRP® Facial Rejuvenation, also known as the Vampire Facial, is an all-natural treatment that results in beautiful, glowing skin. The treatment boosts and stimulates natural healing and rebuilding of collagen minimizes pigmentation, eases inflammation, and more. The Platelet Rich Plasma helps your skin to repair damaged tissue and regenerate new, healthy tissue.
Growth factors (or proteins) from PRP stimulate new collagen production which will tighten the skin, and promote a healthy, youthful, and glowing complexion. The buildup of new collagen is gradual, which means that you can anticipate continued overall improvements to your skin for months. A series of 3-6 is recommended every 4 weeks.
At IMAGE by Grace Kartey, we combine PRP therapy with micro-needling or mesotherapy for the face, body, and scalp.
Where can PRP be used?
PRP is used on the face, neck, décolletage, and other parts of the body. PRP is used to treat acne scarring, melasma, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, skin aging, scar revision, dermal augmentation, dark circles under-eye, and stretch marks. It is an option for those looking for a natural anti-aging treatment.
What happens during the treatment?
During micro-needling treatment, our practitioners use SkinPen, a Health-Canada Approved Microneedling device. The micro-needling device or microneedle creates a series of microscopic puncture wounds across the surface of your skin. The PRP solution is applied simultaneously. The puncture wounds absorb the PRP solution, which causes redness and swelling to subside. Combined, these two treatments trigger the production of new collagen and elastin, two proteins responsible for keeping your skin firm and youthful.
PRP is administered via sterile syringe using a variety of methods including:
Mesotherapy (micro-droplets to the outer layer of skin)
Microneedling is a serum to accelerate the healing capacity and enhance results
Micro-infusions (24K gold-platelets thin needles to infuse into the skin
Cannula to treat dark circles under the eyes or build collagen in the smile lines 5. Injections at the deeper layer of the skin restore volume over time with repeated treatments.
Where does platelet-rich plasma come from?
Platelet-rich plasma comes from your own body. At the beginning of your PRP appointment, a sample of your blood is drawn and placed into a machine called a centrifuge. The centrifuge spins around and separates your platelets from the rest of your blood.
Afterward, the practitioner takes the concentrated PRP solution and applies it to areas of your face that feature wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, or brown spots. There are several ways to administer PRP. Sometimes, it’s injected and other times, it’s combined with another type of treatment like micro-needling or lasers.
Refer to Microneedling FAQ for Pre-Post Care
For best results, we recommend follow-up and repeat treatments in 4-weeks and a series of 3 treatments depending on your custom treatment plan.
You can maintain your results by returning to IMAGE by Grace Kartey for routine treatments. Book a consultation appointment online to find out if PRP is right for you.

What is the Hair Growth System?
Our Hair Growth System is a breakthrough in the promotion of natural, healthy hair growth without surgery or hormonal side effects. The Hair Growth System includes in-clinic hair treatments, a home hair system, and Vitamins.
The in-clinic PRP or stem-cell microneedling hair treatment and a home Hair Restoration System, work together to help awaken the sleeping stems inside the hair follicle and return them to a more youthful and active growth pattern.
What is PRP Hair Treatment
PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is medically documented to improve patients who are experiencing both hair loss, and hair thinning. With no possibility of adverse reaction, a patient’s blood is drawn to produce natural growth factors and nutrients which can be injected directly into the affected area.
Stress, age, and genetics all contribute to a thinning hairline. Multiple treatments are required (4-6 sessions), and patients can expect significant improvement in both hair volume and density. If you have had a hair transplant in the past, you are usually an ideal candidate for PRP treatments.
Contraindications
Patients should be in good overall health and not suffer from skin issues, blood and liver disorders, keloids, or autoimmune disorders (diabetes can cause delayed wound healing)
I am interested in Hair Growth Treatment, where do I start?
How to prepare for your Hair Growth Appointment?
Day of Treatment
Do not exercise 4 hours before the procedure is scheduled.
Avoid taking minoxidil.
Do not take any alcohol.
Wash and condition your hair thoroughly so that the scalp is clean. Use a gentle shampoo
Carry along a clean, washed baseball cap or scarf and a 500 ml bottle of water.
Drink 2 glasses of water with breakfast in the morning.
Eat a healthy breakfast and regular lunch.
1 Day Before Treatment
While you can do cardio exercises and light workouts, anything more intense or rigorous should be avoided.
Avoid caffeine in any form including tea, coffee, energy drinks, aerated drinks, and gym supplements.
Stop smoking and using any kind of tobacco products. Nicotine can impede the healing process.
Raise the intake of water by taking two glasses with each meal, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
3 Days Before Treatment
Do not color or dye your hair three days before and after the PRP procedure.
If you take fish oil as part of a prescription for cardiac or any other problems, check with your medical practitioner and ask if you can avoid taking it until 3 days after the PRP treatment.
Stop taking any alcohol and if you must have some, restrict to one or two drinks. Increase the quantity of water to make up for the alcohol effects.
7 Days before Treatment
Focus on eating nutrient-dense meals with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Include lean protein such as fish, fat-free chicken, and meat. If you’re vegetarian, substitute other protein-rich foods like legumes, tofu, and soy. Add basic carbohydrates that are rich in fiber such as whole grains, nuts, and seeds.
Keep your body hydrated with around 8 to 10 glasses of plain water each day. Any other beverages you consume such as alcohol, soft drinks, sports drinks, juices, smoothies, tea, and coffee are to be excluded from the final total. If you work out regularly, make up for the loss of fluids by adjusting the intake.
Supplement your diet with vitamins B, C, and D, and iron. The slow-release version of vitamin B Complex is recommended. Any other vitamins should be avoided.
Get adequate sleep and rest with at least 8 to 9 hours of quality sleep.
If you normally lead a stressful lifestyle, focus on reducing the stress. Take up meditation exercises, yoga, sauna baths, or any other relaxation methods that work for you so that the stem-cell hair loss treatment gives you the best results.
Keep your hair and scalp clean and free of infections. If needed, consult your medical practitioner, and ask for prescription shampoos that can eliminate any possible dryness, itching, rashes, and inflammations.
If you’re taking anti-inflammatory medications such as Voltaren, Ibuprofen, Advil, Naproxen, and Motrin, check with your doctor if you can safely stop taking them3 days before treatment. Avoid the medications for 3-7 days after the procedure also. Ask for alternatives if you absolutely must have them.
If you need medication for aches and pains, Tylenol is acceptable.
If you’re unwell and need medical treatment, reschedule the appointment until you’re fit and healthy. Any disease, infection, ailment, and the medication you take for it might affect how the stem-cell hair loss treatment works on you.
Avoid taking blood thinners such as cod liver oil, ginkgo, flax, and essential fatty acids.
Post Treatment Care
Avoid hairstyles that cause traction (pulling) or friction on your scalp
Avoid tight braids, glue, buns, and lace glues, especially if you use chemicals or heat on your hair.

What is volume loss?
With age, facial volume deflates, caused by the degradation of healthy skin tissues and the slowing regenerative process. This leads to fine lines, wrinkles, volume loss, and lax skin.
What are laugh lines?
As we age our skin naturally loses collagen and elastin, our cheeks can hollow out and the skin around them can start to sag. When this happens, wrinkles and lines often form in the space between our nose and mouth. There will often be shadows in these areas as well, further enhancing the appearance of the lines.
Treatments for Loss of Volume
We offer several treatments that reduce the appearance of these lines and shadows while rejuvenating your skin and restoring a youthful appearance. These treatments can replace lost volume, plump your skin, and reduce the appearance of the lines.
During your consultation, our team will create a custom treatment plan to help you minimize the look of this volume loss and reverse the signs of aging.
We offer several options including:

What Are Crow’s Feet?
Often referred to as laugh lines, crow’s feet develop around the eyes, producing an unwanted aging effect. As one ages, skin loses collagen and elastin, the lines can become deeper and more pronounced.
What Are Forehead Lines?
By allowing our muscles in our face to contract, the result can cause lines and wrinkles on our forehead to form over time. As one age, these expressive lines deepen. Prevention is key, so starting early is best.
What are Lip "Smokers" Lines?
Lip wrinkles, which are sometimes called lip lines, lipstick lines, or smoker's lines, are the little vertical lines that form on the lips of older adults. These lines are difficult to conceal. Getting rid of lip lines can easily take 10 years off your face.

What are Scars?
Scars form as part of the healing process after your skin has been cut or damaged. The skin repairs itself by growing new tissue to pull together the wound and fill in any gaps caused by the injury. People with dark skin (especially people with African, Asian, or Hispanic heritage), as well as red-haired individuals, are more likely to develop keloid scars. Not all scars require treatment, and many fades away over time. If a scar is bothering you or causing pain, treatments can help.
What are Striae "Stretch Marks"?
Stretch marks (striae) are indented streaks that appear on the abdomen, breasts, hips, buttocks, or other places on the body. Anyone can develop stretch marks, but some factors increase your risk of getting them, such as family history, pregnancy, rapid weight gain or weight loss, etc. Stretch marks are not painful or harmful, but most do not like their appearance.

Physiological changes, daily stress, environmental damage, and pollution, in your 20's, you may see the first signs of aging in the form of fine lines, sun damage, dark under-eye circles, acne (and hormonal acne), scarring, and dullness.
Why preventative treatments + skincare in your 20's?
As you go through your 20's, you might also find skincare products that once worked well aren’t as effective. Oil levels are fluctuating and, when mixed with environmental pollution, there’s an increased chance of clogged pores and breakouts.
In addition, excess sun exposure in your late teens is now showing up in the form of dry patches and sunspots, and hyperpigmentation. Fine lines might also be cropping up around the eyes or forehead as a result of dehydration or increased water loss, decreased collagen production.
Your 20's is the perfect time to start a preventative treatment plan inclusive of the skincare regimen, maintenance, and advanced treatments. SPF is the most important skincare product in your regimen.

When 30 comes around, fine lines, large pores, and hyperpigmentation are more noticeable, usually from a lack of care earlier in life. As you age, your body starts producing less collagen. The skin becomes thinner, drier, and less elastic. The loss of collagen leads to wrinkle formation. Your body begins to lose collagen when you turn 30.
In your 30's you start to notice more prominent signs of aging, such as fine lines, hyperpigmentation, and overall dull or dehydrated complexion, loss of collagen and volume in certain areas of the face or skin that doesn’t bounce back like it used to.
The goal of a treatment plan is preventative aging and geared towards increasing collagen production.

The skin changes that show up in your 30’s are the same changes that increase in visibility, in your 40’s, 50’s, and every decade after. Unless you take action, these changes get progressively worse each year with the deepening of the wrinkles, dullness, first signs of volume loss, age spots, dryness, increasing redness, and sagginess.
Collagen Loss
Collagen and elastin are important proteins that provide structure to your skin, keeping it firm, plump, and youthful-looking. Our body naturally produces collagen when we’re young but once we reach our 40's, collagen production declines to such low levels, it makes a visible difference to your skin.
Fine Lines + Wrinkles
With less collagen in your 40's, lines start to appear around your mouth. With the loss of the structural support provided by important proteins, the skin begins to sag, and lines and wrinkles become more apparent.
Volume Loss
Not only does the skin lose its elasticity, but the subcutaneous fat under the skin also melts away as we get older. Without the padding that keeps the cheeks high and plump, the skin tends to droop, and jowls make their first appearance. Keeping the skin firm and tight becomes priority number one during this decade.
Hydration, Texture + Tone
As the years' pass, you’ll notice your complexion becoming duller. Starting in the thirties, cell turnover starts to slow down. Dead skin cells are shed less frequently, and fresh new skin cells are sluggish to reach the surface. The end result? A complexion that’s more dull than dazzling.
Not only does the skin lose its natural radiance and elasticity, but it also becomes dry. Continuing the process that started in your thirties, the skin produces less sebum, the oily waxy substance that moisturizes and protects the skin. With less of the body’s natural oils coating the skin, the complexion loses moisture easily, becoming both dry and dehydrated. Fine lines become more obvious, leaving the skin with more visible signs of aging.
The goal of treatments is preventative and aging gracefully.

When you've reached your 50s and beyond, your outlook on life may have shifted from discovering who you are to knowing and embracing your true self. You have the opportunity to focus on the things that make you happy.
At 50, you may also notice jowls sagging and large pores appearing as gravity does its thing. Changing hormone and pH levels weaken skin even further, compromising its moisture barrier, especially around the eyes, lips, and neck where the skin is thinner. Inflammation makes your skin more sensitive and irritable. You notice more sagging, dark spots, crow’s feet, fine lines + wrinkles,
The goal of treatments is aging gracefully and geared towards increasing collagen production.

Patients dealing with unwanted hair often experience anxiety, depression, and reduced quality of life. In one study, 75% of women with unwanted facial hair reported clinical levels of anxiety.
But finding an effective and safe hair removal solution can be frustrating. Most techniques like waxing, shaving, and electrolysis are either temporary or have painful side effects. Laser hair removal you never thought possible.
The Aerolase Neo® Elite laser and Candela Gentle Max Pro safely and effectively reduces unwanted hair for good.
What is laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal uses a combination of heat and energy to destroy the hair follicle without harming the skin around it. The NeoElite and Candela Gentle Max Pro laser offers patients a uniquely pain-free and gentle way to get rid of any unwanted hair. This is safe for all skin types & has zero downtime.
What laser do you use?
NeoElite by Aerolase
The NeoElite by Aerolase™ is a revolutionary Nd: YAG 1064nm laser with a 650-microsecond pulse duration. The NeoElite by Aerolase™ is the only laser on the market that uses a combination of heat and energy to destroy the hair follicle without harming the skin around it. The NeoElite laser offers a uniquely pain-free and gentle way to get rid of any unwanted hair. This is safe for all skin types & has zero downtime.
Candela Gentle Max Pro Laser
Candela™ GentleMax Pro System, is an advanced and effective laser for hair removal and Health Canada Approved.
Gentle Pro lasers work by selectively targeting the hair follicle with intense pulses of light energy for thermal destruction, but without damaging the surrounding tissue. The epidermis is protected by the Dynamic Cooling Device, which sprays the treatment area before each laser pulse with a liquid cryogen coolant. This system provides a cooling protection and can be adjusted to individual needs to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.
A treatment package of 6-10 Laser Hair Removal treatments is recommended every 4 weeks for effective results.
Permanently reduces hair after 6-10 treatments
Treatment sessions are well-tolerated
Safe to use on the skin of color
Effective even on lighter-colored hairs and fair skin
How many treatments will I need?
Depending on the area, hair density, and texture being treated, a minimum of 6-10 treatments every 4 weeks is recommended. Maintenance treatments should be completed 2x a year.
**Bonus** Laser hair removal improves the texture of the skin by lasering away sunspots and evening skin tone in the treatment area. After 6 treatments you will see a noticeable improvement. Your skin will not only be smooth and hair-free but also smooth in texture and tone. Individual results will vary
How do I prepare for laser skin treatment?
Discontinue usage of AHAs, BHAs, tretinoin, retinoids, (3-7 days before the treatment)
No peels or aggressive exfoliations one week before laser treatments.
Avoid direct sun exposure for 7 days before service
Stop waxing and plucking 4-6 weeks before starting treatment
Shave treatment area with a new razor 24hrs prior to appointment
Do not bleach or use “Nair”- type products for two (2) weeks before treatment, as this can irritate the skin.
Do not use a black market bleaching agent (beauty supply store)
Day of Appointment
Arrive with treatment area cleansed only
Do not wear make-up or other products (only apply SPF), you will be provided with SPF post-treatment.
Do not wear black clothing or jewelry near the treatment area
Before each treatment, please inform us if you are taking any new antibiotics or medications, as they may make your skin sensitive to light treatments, and therefore, we may not be able to treat you for 1-2 weeks after completion of the antibiotic.
Some medications can interfere with your laser treatments, making them less effective. Other medications can make the skin sensitive and more likely to burn or blister. Please inform your laser technician if you are on antibiotics, birth control, acne, and photosensitizing medications.
Post-treatment instructions for laser hair removal
After a session of laser hair removal (particularly on sensitive areas), it is normal to feel a sensation of warmth in the area, slightly similar to that of a very mild sunburn. The skin may also appear red and the area around the follicle itself may become raised, these normal side effects usually disappear 24-48hrs after each session.
You will notice that these side effects are more obvious after the first few sessions when hair in the area is thick and coarse. Over the course of your treatment, hair will begin to thin out and become finer which will cause these side effects to become less noticeable after each session of the laser.
What to do 24 hrs. after your laser treatment session
Wear loose cotton clothing
Avoid touching the skin in the treatment area
Apply 100% aloe vera to your treatment area
Avoid the gym, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, swimming pool
When showering/bathing keep water tepid/lukewarm
Apply mineral makeup only after all facial laser hair removal treatments
Apply SPF30+ to all treatment areas that are exposed to UV light, cover areas where possible
What to do in the weeks in between your laser hair removal treatment sessions
Exfoliate the skin in the treatment area 4-5 days after treatment. Dead or dry skin can sometimes cause slight redness after treatment so keeping your skin in tip-top condition when having laser will get the best results.
When hair begins to regrow in between sessions, shaving is the only forms of hair removal that is allowed during your course of treatments
Avoid exposing your treatment area to sun or sunbeds throughout your course of treatment
Apply SFP 30+ sunscreen at all times if your treatment areas are exposed to UV light
Stop applying fake tan to your treatment areas 7 days before your next session
Inform us if you begin taking any medications throughout your course
Return for your next session within the time frame recommended by your laser therapist
What to do after your laser session is just as important as the preparation before. You must follow all aftercare advice as this will prevent any adverse reactions from your laser hair removal treatments

Contraindications to laser treatments
If a patient is using a photo-sensitizing medication such as Accutane or has recently undergone surgery or procedure, it is strongly suggested that the patient should share that information before getting a laser treatment because it may cause harm to the patient. Clarify treatment with a health care provider
Direct Irradia Eyes – Some lasers can potentially be harmful to the human Retina, however, damage to the Retinal is very improbable. To avoid this possibility, special wavelength safety goggles must be worn during laser treatments.
Diabetes, Epilepsy & Lupus – Nervous disorders must be evaluated before beginning laser treatments. Clarify with your doctor prior to treatment
Hirsutism (Excessive Body Hair) – Such conditions are generally hormone-related, e.g. polycystic ovarian syndrome. The first port of call, if you have excessive body hair, speak to your Health Care Practitioner, to discuss the problem and rule out any underlying health problems, which could be causing problems, such as female facial hair (usually around the mustache or beard area) that grows like men’s hair pattern. There are a lot of factors that contribute (genetics, hormones). Speak to your doctor before treatment
Keloid scarring – May have an increased risk of scarring from laser treatments.
Herpes Simplex Virus (I or II) – During laser treatments, the heat from the laser may cause flare-ups over areas that have previously had outbreaks. Patients will need to begin their prescription herpes medication approximately four-five days before their treatment. However, if a patient is having an active outbreak, they must reschedule and cannot go through with treatments at that time.
Hemorrhage – Laser treatments may cause hemorrhages to become more severe if it is broken, inflamed, cut, or irritated near the treated area.
Cancer Tumor – Although research does not support this theory, it is recommended to not receive laser treatments over a primary or secondary carcinoma tumor or lesion.
Radiation Therapy – Patients undergoing LLLT are not recommended to undergo laser treatments due to research that supports its effect on the immune system.
Immunosuppressant Drugs – It is not recommended for patients taking immunosuppressant drugs to undergo
Laser treatments
Tacrolimus
Pregnancy – Doctors dictate that laser should not be conducted over the pregnant woman’s uterus.

Living with acne-prone skin can be both frustrating and disheartening when it seems like no treatments are working to manage breakouts.
One of the best treatment options to address all acne-related skin concerns is Aerolase NeoClear, a gentle non-ablative laser energy treatment that is compatible with all skin types and skin tones.
What Is NeoClear by Aerolase™?
NeoClear by Aerolase™ is a gentle skin rejuvenating laser treatment ideal for the correction of multiple appearance-related concerns. As a non-ablative laser, this treatment can be used for both mild and moderate skin issues, as well as on multiple skin types and tones. In addition to acne-related skin concerns, this treatment can also correct fine lines, mild skin laxity, uneven skin tone, uneven skin texture, and sun damage.
What Kind of Acne Does Aerolase Treat?
This treatment is proving to be a powerful solution for a wide variety of acne-related superficial skin concerns, including:
Blemishes
Whiteheads and blackheads
Pimples
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
Dark spots
Enlarged pores
Scarring
Who will benefit from NeoClear acne treatment?
This treatment is for all people who have acne-prone skin, regardless of age, gender, skin type, and skin tone. This is an ideal treatment to address all acne-related skin concerns, as well as other superficial skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, dryness, and skin laxity. This treatment may be right for you if you want to:
Control breakouts
Prevent flare-ups
Destroy acne-causing bacteria
Correct scarring and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
Shrink enlarged pores
Eliminate blemishes
How does the NeoClear by Aerolase™ work?
NeoClear by Aerolase™ is a powerful acne treatment that eliminates the major factors causing acne including excess sebum production, inflammation, and the c. acnes bacteria. Also, the deep heating energy helps build collagen, which can reduce the appearance of acne scars and leave skin looking radiant.
Treatment Steps
Step #1: Prep for Treatment
You will not feel any discomfort during the treatment. However, you will still have to prepare your skin for treatment, which means arriving at your appointment with a fresh face clean of make-up, or lotion. Apply SPF prior to your appointment. The skin will be cleansed before the treatment begins.
Step #2: Global Treatment
Your Aerolase Treatment will first include a global treatment, the laser treatment to your entire face. This is done for two reasons; first, the global treatment destroys all acne-causing bacteria on the skin surface that may contribute to future breakouts, and second, the global treatment will ensure the results of your treatment are cohesive.
Step #3: Spot Treatment
The laser device will then be passed over your skin a second time to focus on particular areas of concern, such as current flare-ups, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, redness, enlarged pores, and clogged pores.
What are the results like with NeoClear by Aerolase™?
Results for this treatment will address all major skin concerns at once. For acne-prone skin, this treatment will help control acne-causing bacteria, minimize breakouts, and resolve blemishes more quickly.
For those who have scarring caused by long struggles with breakouts, this treatment will also smooth the appearance of the skin by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, which will smooth and restore skin to an even texture. Enlarged pores can also be shrunk with this treatment, which may also prevent future breakouts.
How long will my results last?
How long your results last will depend on your particular skin type, age, and the severity of your skin condition. Some people will experience results that last for nearly a year, while others may find that results only last for six or so months.
How do I prepare for NeoClear by Aerolase™ Treatment?
Although this is a non-invasive and non-ablative treatment, there may still be some things you need to do to prepare so you can make sure you get the best possible results.
Do not use exfoliating products 3-7days before appointment
Avoid using retinol products (3-7 days)
Day of Appointment
Arrive with a clean face/treatment area, only cleanse and apply SPF to your face before your appointment
Do not wear make-up or other face products (only apply SPF), you will be provided with SPF post-treatment.
Do not wear black clothing or jewelry near the treatment area
What are post-treatment instructions?
There is a healing period of 7-10 days following your treatment.
No direct sunlight and unprotected sun exposure, wear SPF daily
Avoid excess heat and sweating 24hrs
Use gentle cleansers
Do not use skin-irritating products 24-48hrs
Do not exfoliate or use retinol products 24-48hrs
Do not use heavy moisturizers
Always wear lightweight SPF 30 or higher
How many treatments will I need before I see results?
The number of treatments you will need will depend on your exact skin condition and your appearance-related goals. For the treatment of acne-prone skin, it’s typical to expect about 4-6 sessions every 2 weeks to attain desired appearance goals. You may require fewer or more treatments based on the severity of your acne-related issues.
In general, most people will see initial results from treatment after about a month following the first appointment. It may take a total of six months to fully resolve skin issues and achieve the desired results; this is because the results of this treatment appear gradually as collagen production builds over time and acne-causing bacteria are continually controlled and eliminated.
Will I need follow-up treatments?
Yes, you may require maintenance treatments after initial treatments are completed. The follow-up treatments will help manage any breakouts before they start, which will maintain your results. It’s common for follow-up treatments to occur once every few months (3-6 months). We will help you determine the frequency of your treatment to maintain your results.
How can I maintain my results?
Other than follow-up treatments, there are certain changes you can make and habits you can instill to maintain your results. Some of these methods include:
Skincare products and routine
Using corrective skincare products is essential to controlling acne-causing bacteria and preventing flare-ups before they happen. During your initial consultation, a custom routine will be created for you.
Hydration
Drinking enough water each day helps your body filter out toxins, including acne-causing bacteria. Adults should drink at least 48 to 72 oz of water each day for adequate hydration.
Sleep
A regular sleep cycle may also help manage breakouts, as will regularly changing your pillowcase, which may retain acne-causing bacteria. Getting enough sleep allows the body to regulate hormones and the skin to have normal shedding cycles.
Low stress
Some people have stress-related acne flare-ups which are generally caused by stress hormones that interfere with the normal microbiome of the skin and may cause blemishes to appear, particularly on the forehead and cheeks. Managing your stress may also help you manage your skin.
Hormones
Both women and men can have hormonal acne, which is generally caused by fluctuations in hormones that change the normal behavior of the skin and cause breakouts. For example, it’s common for women to have acne-related issues during the premenstrual cycle. Hormone regulation may help manage your breakouts.
Maintenance Treatments
Follow-up treatments every 3-6 months
Will combination treatments enhance my results?
Absolutely. You can enhance the results of NeoClear treatment with several other advanced treatments that can help control acne-prone skin, as well as help, reduce scarring, uneven skin tone, and uneven skin texture. Some advanced treatments you might consider include chemical peels, microneedling, etc.
Is NeoClear by Aerolase™ acne treatment safe?
Yes. This treatment is not painful and does not harm the skin.
Can all skin types and tones have this treatment?
Yes. Unlike some laser treatments that can only be used on certain skin types and tones, this laser treatment can be safely used on all skin. The light-pulse energy used for this treatment is one of the only laser technologies that can be used on a medium and darker complexion
When is it safe to have this treatment?
You can have this treatment at any time of the year without fear of complications. As long as you follow the post-treatment instructions to avoid sunlight and excessive heat during your skin’s recovery period.
I am interested in the treatment, where do I start?
Book a Clear Skin Consult. The consultation appointment allows us to examine your skin condition, particularly your acne-related issues, to determine if you are eligible for the treatment.
Your consultation will involve a discussion about how the treatment works, expectations for the treatment, and your overall appearance-related goals.

NeoSkin Comprehensive Skin Rejuvenation
NeoSkin by Aerolase advanced rejuvenation and tightening to new levels by enabling a comprehensive treatment to address enlarged pores, tone and texture, redness, pigmentation, age spots, sun damage laxity, and other unwanted skin structures in a single treatment with a single device.
NeoSkin’s 650-microsecond energy targets water in the dermis to stimulate collagen production, which reduces fine lines, pores, and tightens skin. NeoSkin targets melanin and hemoglobin to clear brown pigment, clear vascular lesions, and suppress inflammation. This NeoSkin treatment is a quick, tailored treatment to address specific needs.
A treatment package of 4-8 NeoSkin treatments is recommended every 3-4 weeks for effective results. Accelerate your results with a custom IMAGE chemical peel.
NeoSkin by Aerolase™ Melasma and Hyperpigmentation
NeoSkin by Aerolase allows patients of all skin types to comprehensively clear their melasma and hyperpigmentation. As a multi-factorial condition that can involve epidermal melanin, dermal melanin, and vascular component, melasma typically requires a complex treatment regimen to achieve clearance and prevent a recurrence.
The Aerolase Neo helps patients to achieve clearance with a safe, effective, and tolerable treatment by addressing each of these factors. The Neo’s 650-microsecond laser energy is delivered into the dermis and epidermis to break up melanin deposits while shutting down vasculature and inflammation.
A treatment package of 4-8 NeoSkin treatments is recommended every 3-4 weeks for effective results. While the NeoSkin may be used alone as a single treatment, combination treatments offer effective treatment outcomes.
Customize the treatment with a peel to speed up the cellular turnover of the epidermis and accelerate the clearance of pigmentation in a single session.
NeoSkin by Aerolase™ Pseudofolliculitis Barbae, i.e., ingrown hairs
PFB i.e., ingrown hairs, razor bumps, or beard bumps is an irritating skin condition that is commonly caused by shaving. It often appears in patients of darker skin types, including tanned skin and skin types IV through VI. The laser selectively targets the melanin in the underlying hair and follicle, as well as hyperpigmentation surrounding the lesion.
A treatment package of 4-8 NeoSkin treatments is recommended every 2 weeks for effective results.
NeoSkin by Aerolase™ Rosacea, Redness, Skin tags, and Veins
NeoSkin comprehensively addresses rosacea, redness, veins, and broken capillaries in a single, 20minute treatment session. A common condition with skin aging is the appearance of redness and the formation of veins and broken capillaries in the skin.
NeoSkin effectively addresses these conditions with deep-penetrating energy that suppresses the inflammation causing the redness. It also coagulates the unwanted veins and broken capillaries, which are then gradually cleared by the body’s natural immune response. A treatment package of 4-6 NeoSkin treatments is recommended every 3-4 weeks for effective results.
How many treatments will I need?
Depending on your skincare needs, 4-8 laser skin treatments are generally recommended. Your skincare therapist will assess your needs and outline the number of treatments needed in your treatment plan. Treatments are scheduled every 3-4 weeks depending on your treatment plan.

Pregnancy – Doctors dictate that laser should not be conducted over the pregnant woman’s uterus.
There are a lot of factors that contribute (genetics, hormones). Speak to your doctor before treatment
Keloid scarring – You May have an increased risk of scarring from laser treatments.

Accentuate your eyes with a simple, safe, and effective way to lengthen and thicken your eyelashes. Latisse® works to extend the growth phase and increase the number of hairs that grow to enhance your lashes. Latisse® represents a long-term solution for lengthening and thickening eyelashes, while also producing results in as little as 2 months of use. The longer Latisse® is used, the better the results.
Is Latisse safe?
Latisse® has a stellar and long-established safety record. It has been used in the eyes to treat glaucoma for 20 years.
How long will the results last?
Latisse® will need to be used continuously to maintain lash thickness and length. However, maintenance application only requires two uses a week.
How long before I start seeing results?
Most people start seeing results within 8 weeks and the best results in the 16th week.
How do you apply Latisse?
Latisse® is a product that you can apply yourself in the comfort of your own home. It comes with its applicator and is as simple to use as putting on mascara. Make sure to clean your eye area before and after application. It is recommended that Latisse® be applied to the upper lash line just before bed as this allows for a normal routine the following morning. Once you have achieved the desired length and thickness, you can adjust how frequently you use the product to maintain appropriate thickness and length (approximately 2 times a week).

If you’re taking anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen, Advil, Naproxen, and Motrin, check with your doctor if you can safely stop taking them3 days before treatment.
Complete Home Hair Treatments
